Brief History of Our School


Strange are the ways of nature.A small seed produces a big banyan tree.The effects of the human efforts are in no way less strange.A class started by one teacher having exactly one pupil in 1925 has grown into a big institution having seven Senior Secondary schools in the capital,with more than 7000 students 500 teachers.That is our Delhi Tamil Association.

The D.T.EA Senior Secondary School,Motibagh is the 5thamong seven sister schools.Keeping in view the needs of the South Indian community in Motibagh and its adjoining areas,a primary school was set up by the Madrasi Education Association ( Now known as Delhi Tamil Education Association) on 11thSeptember ,1961 .It was raised toMiddle School in 1963 and to a full fledged Higher Secondary School in the year 1970.Presently we are imparting education in Science,Commerce and Arts groups upto class XII under 10 plus 2 scheme.

The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education,Delhi.It is a co-educational institution having about 650 students predominantly Tamil speaking population of Delhi.The pupils are being taken care of by 50 dedicated members of the teaching Staff.The pupils have shown their talents in sports, co-curricular activities and co-scholastic activities as well.The school takes pride in having produced many executives,doctors, scientists,chartered accountants,I.A.S.officers,etc.over aperiod of three decades.
